History

In 1969, the group of banks that would become Citizens First Bank began with the purchase of First National Bank of Viroqua and Farmers State Bank of Viola.

In 1985, Citizens State Bank in Trempealeau was purchased. And in 1999, the M&I Bank branch in Sparta joined the group.

In the summer of 2005, all four banks were merged and reorganized as Citizens First Bank, a State of Wisconsin chartered bank.

The Citizens First Bank family of banks added a branch in Centerville in 2006.

The newest buidling addition is in Sparta at 835W. Wisconsin st.  The location provides a more visible building to better serve our customer base.
