History

In 1969, the group of banks that would become Citizens First Bank began with the purchase of First National Bank of Viroqua and Farmers State Bank of Viola.

In 1985, Citizens State Bank in Trempealeau was purchased. And in 1999, the M&I Bank branch in Sparta joined the group.

In the summer of 2005, all four banks were merged and reorganized as Citizens First Bank, a State of Wisconsin chartered bank.

The most recent addition to the Citizens First Bank family of banks is our branch in Centerville in 2006.
